At one time a private country house, Royal Marine Hotel has more recently established itself as one of the finest retreats on Scotland’s east coast. Located in Brora, about 80 minutes north of Inverness, the hotel offers the opulence and sophistication of a stately country house, and offers an excellent chance to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery. Spacious guest bedrooms are styled in soft carousel red and amber colours, while elsewhere guests can enjoy facilities such as a snooker room, heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and fully-equipped gym; there are also treatment rooms with a range of beauty and massage packages available. While the friendly staff are more than happy to recommend local restaurants, you may prefer to break bread in the hotel itself. Utilising only the finest and freshest local ingredients – including seafood direct from Scrabster, one of the Highlands’ quaintest fishing ports – each of its three restaurants is well worth a visit. The menus are also refreshed every eight weeks, ensuring a regular supply of seasonal dishes. Whether you’re stopping by for afternoon tea by the crackling log fire, or enjoying nine holes at the Brora Golf Club followed by a drink in the Garden Room, the Royal Marine Hotel is a fine choice.

Another great 2 nights at the lovely Royal Marine in Brora I would highly recommend. Although I was staying for business purposes it’s a great location for the beautiful NC500. The chef is always accommodating as I am vegetarian.

Stayed for one night, had dinner and breakfast. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We were in a classic double so no four poster but sadly we had no view at all, the room looked out directly onto the roof of another part of the hotel. It would have been nice to have a view of some kind but otherwise it was still a great stay. The hotel itself is quirky with lots of memorabilia so take your time to have a nose around. The evening meal and breakfast were both nice and the staff were great. Would defiantly stay here again.

Its exactly like the pics! The place and services were great! I was actually there for an MUN conference so it was pretty crowded but the services were still excellent
